Area - week 6

Area is the total number of square units inside of a shape   
Builders use area to build houses and pools. 
We use columns and rows : columns mean 'come on down ' and rows means 'right across' to measure area.

Example : 
5 x 3 =15 square units
length x width = area

Cats and Dogs - Week 5

Here are two best friends, some don't get along but these one do.

"Oh no I wish that I could go faster !!!!!!!! " said the cat. 



"Oh my gosh this is so relaxing  "
What moive are we going to watch ?" said the dog.




"Come on, time for walkies" said the cat.

"Thank goodness, dogs are stronger than cats"

"I told you so" said dog.
"Man, I shouldn't have done this in the first place" 
"You were right, you win," said cat.

The Summarising Strategy - Week 4


When writing a summary, keywords can give people ideas and they also give information.

When you write a summary it can be about anything. 

Keywords help write sentences so you don't plagiarise (copy someone else work ), if you do, you might go to jail  for it.

Example  
Here are three key words about a moa:
Bird, moa and extinct


Here is an example of a sentence: 
A moa is a bird, it is extinct.




Bush Moa.

Maths - Week 3

In our class room we have been doing measurement, we have been using match sticks (not fire match sticks).
We had to make our name out of 50 match sticks, here is how my name looked when I had finished it. 

Our learning was to measure accurately, we needed a starting point and a finishing point.
